The History of Livingston Co., published in 1905 contains the following: Zebulon Moses came to Lima, NY from Rutland, VT in 1791 and acquired a tract ofland in Lima Village on the NW corner of which now stands American Hotel. Two years later he sold this tract and purchased property which hsi great grandson Luther now occupies. Luther was a soldier of 1812 and participated in many notable engagements along the Niagra frontier. In an old cemetery, one mile from the farm on which he died is a marble slab, broken and on the ground; inscribed: Zebulon Moses d Aug 30, 1808, age 54, Hannah his wife d March 23, 1860 age 92. Zebulon was married twice and almost certaintly in Vermont. Hehad three sons by the first wife Pheobe; Samuel, Reuben, and Jonah. By hiswife Hannah of Thomas Lee who settled in Lima about the time of Zebulon's arrival.
