[Hardy.FTW] He came to America with Governor Winthrop in 1630. The expeditionwas 17 ships and 1500 people. March 12 1632, Thomas and his family were members of the comp any of thirteen families who hoined in the settlement of Agawam, later called I pswich. Members of this party were carefully chosen before Jan. 17, 1632 by th e Board of Assistants of the Bay State. He built thefirst frame house there in 1634. In 1653, Thomas moved to Rowley, Mass and10 years later to Bradford, where he became the owner of one thousand acres of land in the most beautiful section of the district. This land was along the Merrimac river, comprising fo r the most part what is now Groveland, formerly known as the Rogers plantation. Here he built a house and dug a well, which was still in use until a few year s ago. He was a well educated man. Bradford was called Merrimack ner Haverhil l. His wife's first name was Lydia

[Hardy.FTW] He was known as Thomas Jr. until his father's death, and then called Thomas Sr. He made his will on March 3, 1714 which was proved on March 19, 1716. He was admitted to Bradford Church on 07-12-1713.

[Hardy.FTW] He was called "Corporal". No record of marriage. He willed his property in 17 23 to the children of his brother, Jacob, especially mentioninghis nephew, Jos eph. He was probably the Joseph admitted to the Bradford Church on June 26, 17 20.

[Hardy.FTW] He was one of the first members of the new Congregational Church that was organ ized in Groveland on June 7, 1727 in which he served as deacon. After 1690, he was known as William, Sr. He died without making a will. His son,William, wa s appointed the administrator of the estate on Jan. 30, 1722.

He and his wife had previously joined th e Bradford Church on April 26, 1691. He died without making a will and his wid ow, Lydia, administrated the estate on May 6, 1706.
