Pline Eugene POPE

                   Mert Gray Pope (9) was the first child the only son of Pline Eugene
Pope (8) and Clara Emily Redfield Pope.
Mert Gray Pope (9) was born August 18, 1880 in Lind, Wisconsin.  All
of his educations was received in the Lind Center Scho ols.  After
graduation Mert took up the farming duties on his father's farm. Pline
Eugenes' death left the complete responsibility of running the farm to
Mert Grey who at the time only twenty years old.
Mert Gray (9) Pope met and married Bessie Hickman (born January 2,
1877 daughter of William and Minerva Hickman).  From this marriage there
were four off springs:
1.)   Gard Willi m Pope(10) born January 8, 1908
2.)   Twin daughter Marjorie Lorraine Pope bo rn March 25, 1911
3.)   Twin daughter Marian Lorene Pope born March 25, 1911
4.)Madelyn Pope born October 16, 1919
The twin off springs Marjorie Lorrain e and Marian Lorene Pope were
the only set of twins born to the Nathaniel Pop e (7) line.  Also the Mert
and Clara the grandparents were the first eleventh generation male
springs to their great grandparents (female line decedent) P lineEugene
Pope (7) and Clara Emily Redfield Pope and great great grandparen ts
Nathaniel Pope (7) and Eliza Jane Loomis Pope.
                  

                   Merele Edith Pope (9) was the second child of Pline Eugene Pope (8)
and ClaraEmily Redfield Pope.
Merle like many of the other Pope generations went to the Lind
Center School District schools.
Merle Edith (9) Pope married John Thomas (born April 02, 1877 in
Springwater, Massachusetts) in 1909 at Lind, Wisconsin.  From this
marriage there were three children.
1.)  Lila Mae (10 Pope) Thomas born April 24, 1910 in Springwater,
Wisconsin
2.)   Lloyd Victor (10 Pope) Thomas born September 12, 1911 in
Springwater, Wisconsin
3.)   MaxonPope (10 Pope) Thomas born August 12, 1917 in Waupaca,
Wisconsin
Only infor mation available at this time is that in June 1938 Merle
and her husband John Thomas were running a market garden in Waupaca,
Wisconsin.
                  

                   Flora Belle (8) Pope is the third child a daughter of Nathaniel (7)
Pope and Eliza Loomis Pope.
Attended the Lind Center  Schools and later studying music,which
lead to her teaching music out of her home.
Flora Belle (8) Pope marr ied Nels P. Sorensen (born Denmark) on
March 18, 1914.  From this marriage th ere were five children produced.
1.)   Marguerite (9 Pope) Sorensen born April12, 1915 in Lind,
Wisconsin, died November 17,         1915
2.)   Grant Low ell (9 Pope) Sorensen born November 19, 1916 in Lind,
Wisconsin
3.)   Elmore Woodrow (9 Pope) Sorensen born February 14, 1919  in
Lind, Wisconsin
4.) InezClara (9 Pope) Sorensen born April 25, 1924 in Lind,
Wisconsin
5.)   Ja y Vinton (9 Pope) Sorensen born May 29, 1926 in Lind,
Wisconsin
After their marriage they took up residence on the farm which was
the former home site of GeorgeMitchell Pope.  Later on in life they
purchased the Marchant farm as well, this farm was part of the original
holding of George Mitchell Pope.
