Robert FOOTE
Nathaniel settled in Weathersfield in 1640. Was deputy to General Court 1641-1644. Ancestors to Nathaniel obtained from World Family Tree, Vol 10, #1632 Founders and Patriots by Colket: Foot, Foote; Foote Family 1907-32, 2 v. Nathaniel Foot Watertown MA 1633, Wethersfield CT 1636, died there by November 20 1644. Deputy, Coat of arms enrolled 405 #77, 117, 1812, 1813, 1814, 2745. Coat of arms questioned. At the age of 16, Nathaniel was apprenticed on 21 September, 1608 to Samuel Croyle of Colchester, a "Grocer" and "Free Burgess", for a period of 8 years or until his 24th birthday in the year 1616. Sometime before the year 1633, the family left London, arriving in Boston about 1633 and later moving to Watertown, Massachusetts. Nathaniel was one of the first settlers of Weathersfield, Connecticut in about 1635, where he resided until his death. According to the records of "The Original Distribution of Lands Around Weathersfield", recorded in 1640, a short time after arriving in Weathersfield, Nathaniel received a ten acre house lot on the east side of Broad Street. This land was near the sound end of the street. He also became the owner of several other tracts laying in part in the great meadow east of his house and containing close to 400 acres of land. Today, part of his land is a public park at the foot of Broad Street. After immigrating, Nathaniel became a farmer. He was also active in the town, serving as a delegate to the "General Court" in the year 1644. Conflicting evidence states that Nathaniel was born 1593 in Shalford, Colchester, England. Nathaniel's will was probated November 20, 1644 in Wethersfield, Hartford, CT.
