Nehemiah PETTIT
In his will Nehemiah lists his 2nd wife and children. There was a lawsuit by his second wife over her dowry. In that suit she mentions many of NehemiahÕs children. During his life it seems he accumulated some wealth. He was an early landowner in Tennessee. On 6 Dec, 1830, Susanna petitions court for dowry in land.

Joel and family migrated to Marshall County, Kentucky between 1840 and 1850. The family lived on ClarkÕs Creek where he had a grist mill and saw mill. Mary, his wife died before 1860 (according to Federal Census) and he died in Johnson County, Illinois in 1874 (Perrin: Ballard County WhoÕs Who). It is believed that Mary Black was one half Indian, either from the Cherokee or Chickasaw Tribe.
