George ROTHROCK, (SOL. REV. W.)

                   In the transcribed 1790 US Census the names appears as Rolrick, George 1 - 2 - 8. so the count appears correct.

George ROTHROCK was born 1747 at Bucks Countyk, pennsylvania and died 01 May 1826 at Derry Township, Mifflin County, Pennsylvania. He married Elizabeth MYERS (MEYERS?) who was born 1751 and died Jul 1827 at Mifflin County, Pennsylvania. George and Elizabeth are buried at the Tate family cemetery in Fergusons Valley, 1.5 miles west of Burnham, Derry Township, Mifflin County, Pennsylvania. They were the parents of ten known children, including twin girls, Susanna and Mary, who were born 24 Dec 1773, who were the 2nd and 3rd of the children

from the 1886 "History of the Susquehanna & Juniata Valleys" - page 545"George Rothrock, the first of the family of that name, took out a warrant for a tract of land June 9, 1773, and later took up other lands, amounting in all to 200 acres, for which he received a patent april 7, 1775. They were situated in Ferguson's Valley, where now the Albrights reside. His brother Philip built upon the place, in 1798, a tannery, which he conducted until 1802, when he purchased land and built a tannery at Kellyville, and lived there till his death, in 1851. Jonathan, another brother, located land at Logan, on the Kishacoquillas Creek, and built there a saw-mill. A portion of his land belongs to the Logan Steel and Iron Company. He was a member of the State Legislature at an early day. His son George was a miller, and was for many years at Thompsontown, Juniata County.John Rothrock, a son of George, the first settler, purchased the farm of his father April 26, 1826, and March 25, 1828, he sold it to George Albright."
