Then they came to Indiana in the year of 1818, and settled in Martin County, near Mount Pleasant (one mile South of Loogootee, Indiana). His cousins, Clement, Joseph, and Robert also came"."Jeremiah Raney was a Revolutionary Soldier serving in the New York line, 5th Regiment, commanded by Col Lewis Dubois, 1st Company of General Rosecran's Army.
