Ethel (Buxton) McLean d 21 Jun 1963 age 74 CHRISTIAN COUNTY REPUBLICAN 27 Jun 1963. Contributed by Mabel and Randal Phillips. Mrs. Ethel McLean, 74, of Rt. 1, Nixa, a lifelong resident of Christian County, died at 5:30 a.m. Thursday in St. John's Hospital in Springfield after a short illness. She was a member of the Northside Church of Christ at Ozark, had been secretary of the Christian County Library Board since its organization, had taught in rural schools for a number of years, and was the past president of the Nixa and Christian County PTA. She was active in the WPFA and the Nixa Garden Club. Survivors include her husband, Otis of the home; two sons, Harold, Nixa, and Dr. Eugene McLean, Columbus, Ohio; a daughter, Mrs. Alice Richmond, Nixa; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Grant Buxton, Route 3, Springfield, and Frank, El Reno, Okla.; and a half brother, Norman Buxton, Ozark. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Saturday in Harris Chapel with Kenneth Van Duesen officiating. Burial was in Selmore Cemetery under direction of Harris. 1 _TITLE OBIT

Grant W. Buxton, 73, Springfield, was dead on arrival at 3:45 p.m. Friday at St. John's Hospital. He had suffered from an illness of several years. Mr. Buxton had retired in 1960 from the Springfield Ice and Refrigeration Company. He was a member of High Street Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Nancy; two sons, Leon, Springfield and Gail, Carthage; two daughters, Mrs. Louise Law, Houston, Texas and Mrs. Katherine McCoy, Cuernavaca, N. M.; a brother, Norman, Ozark; 13 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Funeral services were at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the Ayre-Goodwin Chapel with the Rev. L. V. Swadley officiating.
