Mayor of Shafter, CA, from 1952 to 1958.  A Kern County, CA, agricultural pioneer and Shafter civic leader.
Adolph started growing corn and potatoes in the Shafter area around 1928, later introduced potato production in the Arvin-Edison district, which today is one of the top potato growing areas in the country.  He planted a vineyard and soon branched out into other agricultural products.  He was the largest residential developer in Shafter, developing 80 acres known as the Mannel Tract.
Adolf was on the Richland School District board for several years.  In 1946 he was elected to the Shafter City Council and became Mayor of Shafter in 1952, where he served for six years.  As an agriculturist, residential developer, school and civic leader, Adolf was recognized in 1958 as Shafter's Man of the Year.
