                   His brother was killed in action in the Philippines and since no certificate of last rites accompanied the remains at the time of return for burial the Catholics at Barnesville refused burial in the Holy part of the cemetery. The Catholics would only allow burial in what William Arthur Bowman termed as Hell's Corner. As a result John had his brotherr buried in another cemetery where all the ground is regarded as a subway stop for heaven and left the Catholic Church.
