Samuel STRONG
On August 10, 1711, he and his son Samuel Jr., took a team of horses out of Northampton to a meadow to get a load of grain. They soon were ambushed by three Indians. When the townspeople rushed there they found young Samuel dead and the father gone. Samuel Sr. had been wounded and taken prisoner. He was taken to Canada but later returned home. He arrived home on a Sabbath and entered the meeting house to the surprise and joy of the congregation.
