Thomas DACRE, VI BARON LORD OF GILLESLAND

                   Note: Thomas de Dacre, summoned to parliament from 1 December, 1412, to 26 May, 1455, This nobleman was constituted chief forester of Inglewood Forest, co. Cumberland, in the 8th Henry V [1421], and was appointed in the 2nd Henry VI [1424] one of the commissioners to treat for peace with James I of Scotland. His lordship m. Philippa, dau. of Ralph Nevil, Earl of Westmoreland, and d. 1458, having had issue, Thomas, who m. Elizabeth Bowes; Ranulph, who fell at Towton Field; Humphrey; John; Richard; George; Joan, m. Thomas, 8th Lord de Clifford; and Isabel, m. to Lord Scrope, of Upsal.
