1st. Duke of Normandy at about A.D. 900. A Norseman. Aka, RobertI,
Rollo. Also; died in 927 A.D. Rolf reportedly aquired the territory
Neustria which became known as Normandy. Normandy dervies from thefrench
words, Norman, meaning Norse men and dy, meaning place of, thus itwas the
place of the Norse men. This is the region where the Norse, onsouthern
excursion, invaded, captured and held, as their southern bastion(JFN,1997).

Count of Rouen) as his Danish Wife.  Under Treaty of St.
Claire, 911, received the duchy of Normandy from Charles III,
the Simple.
