Christopher Hugh BOOTY

                   Mrs. Bernie Clark, My daddy's mother was one of Hugh Dowden's daughters.  Uncle Chris Booty and my daddy were brothers.  My daddy was Abner Marco Bozzarus Booty.  Uncle Chris had a sawmill and a cotton gin and ground meal for corn bread.  That was across the creek back over yonder on that Kisatchie-Mora Road.  Uncle Chris used to gin our cotton. In fact, he cut the lumber in this house and the old lumber in our old house, the rough lumber.  We cut the ends off of our own boards.  Our other old house was covered with cypress boards.  I lived here before I lived up on the hill.  I married, we came back and raised our three children here.  They're all scattered out.  Besides our families there used to be Keys, but there are no Keys here now, all are gone.  Mary White lived somewhere near the Keys place.  That was the mother of old Dr. White that lives out there on Mora Road.  Keys used to live on that road fro the Fire Tower and that's the Key's Cemetery on the hill.
