Samuel MAGRUDER

                   Capt. Alexander Magruder was a son of Samuel and Sarah (Beall) Magruder; and Samuel was a son of Alexander and Margaret (Braithwaite) Magruder. The last named Alexander, an immigrant from Scotland, had a second wife, Elizabeth Hawkins. Said Capt. Alexander Magruder, a vestryman of Prince George's parish, Rock creek, and inspector at the mouth of Rock creek, died before (or on) 12 May, 1751 (P.G. par.rec.). His will, 19 May, 1749, bequeathed to his son, Hezekiah, 100 acres of his dwellings plantation, and the whole tract at his mother's death. His son Nathanial, who inherited 333 acres of Grubby Thicket, married Elizabeth Offutt, and they were the parents of Lethe Magruder, wife of Edward Talbott,_____, and Walter Magruder, whose daughters, Eliza and Caroline became the wives of William and Edward Talbott in 1812 and 1819.
