Notes:
Talbot graduated from Williams, class of 1916. He was in Squadron A in New York City, a cavalry troop that was similar to the National Guard. They were called to active duty during the Mexican border problems in 1916, then he joined the Army as a 2nd Lieutenant when we declared war against Germany. He was in the 306th Machine Gun Battalion of the 77th Division, and was wounded in the Argonne. His outfit two weeks later was part of what became known as the Lost Battalion, under General Whittlesey. His replacement was killed in this engagement.
After the war, he returned to the business world, but retired in 1929, and he and his wife went to Spain, where they lived for a year and a half. In 1934, he went to Washington at the request of his friend Harry Hopkins to work in the New Deal for 6 months. He left Washington in 1946.
After moving to Florida, he lived there until his death in 1981. Belatedly, he has achieved recognition for his photography.
Most of the information on the Brewer genealogy comes from records kept by TMB. For the most part, it has not been researched, but is probably pretty accurate. He passed it on from his father, Horatio Jones Brewer.
