Thomas Thayer had a large family born in England.  Just when he
emigrated to the colonies is not known but he was in Boston
before 24 Jan 1639/40, when land was granted him at Mount
Wollaston (Braintree) for 9 heads in his familyWill of Thomas
Thayer: I Thomas
Thayer of Brantrey....Shoemaker being in perfect health and
memory...this twenty-fourth day of June in the yeare of our Lord
one thousand six hundres sixty and fower doe make this my last
will and testament as followeth.  Imprimus I give to my wife
Margery that now is all my lands goods and estate during the
tyme...of her natural life and after her decease I give to my
sonne Thomas Thayer...all that my ground lying...overe the
Monotoquott River within... the said Town of Brantrey...I give
and bequeath unto ffardinando Tayer my sonne...immediately after
the decease of Margery my said wife, my house and orchard
thereunto belonging...in Brantrey aforesaid...Item I give and
bequeath unto my sonne Sidrecke Tayer....a parcel of ground at
Braintree...Item I give and bequeath all my goods and Chattels
unto my grandchildren.
And lastly if any of my said children shall apear to
disapprove....and murmur at this my last will and Testament,
then....such child shall have but 5 shillings for their portion.
And I do nominate and appoint my said wife and my son
