ranks (sick) Jan. 25,1864; transferred to 159th Co., 2d Batl, V.R.C., Feb. 17,
1864; discharged July 5,1865. He received a pension in 1871. He was a builder
and contractor in New Haven,Conn.

Mother died when only a year or so old. Appears that she was raised by her
grandparents, John and Almira (Buell) Griswold as she was listed on the 1870
and 1880 census as living in their home.
In the 1940's she was operating the Ideal Hotel on North Main St. in
