Canaan, Litchfield, CT > VT near Onion River 1852>Shefford QC Patriotic service in VT Isaac Lawrence went to Vt in 1775 when it was still a wilderness. Indian attacks under the British drove them away back to CT where they lived till after the War of the Revolution (1776). The family again returned to VT. The family moved to Canada East (Quebec) in 1795 to the town of Shefford QC.
