Dollie moved to Beaver Co., OK, with her parents in 1888, but wishing to receive an education came to Manhattan, KS, to stay with the Howard's.
Burt Howard a schoolmate later became her husband. After their first child was born they also homesteaded near her parents in Beaver Co., OK. An old letter written in 1898 from Fulton, OK, post office gave proof of home steading. At some time they moved to Manhattan, KS where in 1904 they were operating a hotel and sometime before 1906 they moved to Saskatchewan, Canada, home steading near the Saskatchewan River. Their home, a log cabin was in a picturesque location high on the river bank. Dollie returned to the U.S.A. very few times, living to 90 years of age, dying 4 days before her birthday.
