Taken from Field Genealogy, Vol I by Frederick Clifton Pierce Historian and Genealogist Hon. Henry Field, Jr. He was chosen ventryman of St Mark's Parish, April 8, 1763, and subscribed to the test oath of discipline of the Church of England and to his Majesty before the court of Culpeper, Dec, 19, 17613 and was elected church warden for the following year, which office he held until his removal to Bromfield Parish. In 1780, the vestry met and ordered certain payments to be made to the poor, of which he was one of the committee. He represented Culpeper in the convention, held at a Williamsburg, in 1774, to consider the state of the country; and in the House of Burgesses in 1775; also in the convention of 1776, which asserted the principle of religious liberty, declared American independence and adopted the first constitution of Virginia. Henry Field Jr., will dated Nov. 7, 1785 probated in Culpeper county, Virginia.
