Thomas NESBIT

                   Also born NOV.
Reportedly, a genealogist, hired by the family some years ago, saidthat
Thomas' parents were massacred by Indians when he was a young boy.The story
remains in the family's oral tradition without any documentation.
Thomas is listed as an elder of the Busseron Creek Church inSullivan
Countty, Indiana, aka Palmer's Prarie Church, in a church documentdated
approximately 1859.
There is a cemetery next to this church where a gravestone is located,
inscribed, C. Owens Nesbit. The words; Died Nov 17, 1891, aged 96 Ys6 Ms 5
Ds. There is additional writing on the stone but weathering had madeit too
difficult to read. An Owens Nesbit is listed as a member of the same
congregation (see above).
The researcher suspects that he is somehow related to Thomas and wouldlike
any help available. The data above is from; SSgt Robert L Nesbit, PSC3 Box
6473, APO AP 96266-6473. He is in the U.S. Air Force, stationed at theOsan
Air Base, Korea, at this writing (MAY 1996). (JFN,1996). I suspectthat this
Robert is #38 (Robert Leon Nesbit) in the N/N database.
