She drowned in the Boone River, when an overloaded ferry capsized inthe flood swollen river. Lost also with her, were her daughter Tirzah,the wife of Charles Addison SHERMAN and their infant daughter, Katie MSHERMAN. Major Charles Addison Sherman, her son, was serving in the 11th.Pennsylvania Calvery during the Civil War at the time. He laterre-married Mary Anna Wood. Also born 1808. Also died 1862.
