                   Glenn Applegate
Glenn W. Applegate, 81, Oldfield, died Jan. 3, 2003, in his home. He was born April 11, 1921, in Keltner, the son of C.C. "Penny" and Rosa (Hall) Applegate. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II and received a purple heart after being wounded in New Guinea. He also received a bronze star for heroic action while serving his country. On Mary. 17, 1944, he and Wanda Davis were married. He was a member of Ozark VFW Post No. 7628. Survivors include his wife, Wanda; eight children and spouses, Gwendolyn Kay and Harry Averill, Independence, Kan., Nedra and Bill Barr, Oldfield, Renetta Applegate, Independence, Kan., Rebecca Cooper, St. Louis, Sue and Steven Casebolt, Grand Junction, Colo., Curtis and Lee Applegate, Carbondale Colo., Clon Applegate, Oldfield, and Joe Applegate, Paonia, Colo.; 11 grandchildren; eight great- grandchildren; three sisters, Lorraine Upson, and Pauline Crider, both of Selah, Wash., and Goldie Richardson, Oldfield; and a uncle James "Hobo" Applegate, Oldfield.
