John ADAMS, DEACON

                   Called The Honorable John ADAMS. Also described as a ; Junior.Alsoborn 30
OCT 1735 in Braintree, now Quincy, Suffolk, Massachusetts.
John signed the Declaration of Indepndence representing the Colonythat became
the State of Massachusetts. He was the First Vice-President of TheUnited
States of America (1789-1797) and the Second President of the UnitedStates of

US President John ADAMS and Val John Jennings are 2nd cousins 6 times removed.  Their commo n ancestors are Joseph ADAMS and Abigail BAXTER.
Was elected by the narrow margin of 71 to 68 over his vice-president and
successor Thomas Jefferson.  Presided from 1797 to 1801.  Was the first
president to live in Washington, D.C.  Died on the same day a few hours
after Thomas Jefferson.  Was responsible for appointing George Washington
Commander-in-Chief of the Army.  Insisted that Thomas Jefferson write the
draft for the declaration of independence.
