Jonathan PERKINS, LIEUTENANTREVWAR

                   Lieutenant Jonathan Perkins enlisted in the Army, 01 MAY 1775, as aSargeant
in Captain Daniel Moore's Company, a part of Colonel John Stark'sRegiment;
then at Cambridge, Massachusetts, 02 Sep 1775.
He was drafted as a Sargeant in Captain Henry Dearborn's Company inthe
detachmant commanded by General Benedict Arnold (of Rhode Island)against
Quebec (Canada), 01 JAN 1776, and was taken as a Prisoner of Warthere.
He was detained until 24 SEP 1776. He was released and landed at
Elizabethtown Point in New Jersey. He was not exchanged until JUN1777. On 29
JUL 1777 he received a Commission of Ensign in Captain Jason Waite'sCompany,
a unit of Colonel Joseph Cilley's First New Hampshire Regiment. On 24MAR 1780
he received the Commission of Lieutenant in Captain Moody Dustin'sCompany of
the same Regiment (above). He was in service of the United States from01 MAY
1775 untill JUL 1783 when the Army was officially disbanded atNewburgh, New
York.

17 JUN 1775  Bunker Hill
31 DEC 1775  Storming of the City of Quebec, (Canada) where he wastaken
Prisoner of War. He lay in irons for sevenweeks.
19 SEP 1777  Battles of Stillwater and Saratoga
07 OCT 1777  Wounded in action near the battle sites noted above.
From this wound he received a small pensionthereafter.
28 JUN 1778  Battle at Monmouth(New Jersey),2 miles West of theCourthouse.
13 AUG 1779  Battle at Chemong While serving in a Detachment withGeneral
Sullivan to Six Nations where they were ambushedby
Indians.
29 AUG 1779  Fell in with the Indians again and had a smartengagement.
Lieutenant Perkins moved from Epping to Gilmanton (Belknap) NewHampshire in
1794 and drew a pension of $ 20 from 27 MAR.......entry ends on Page134 of
