James,Sr. came from Scotland not later than 1666. He emigrated to theCalvert
Cliffs area of Calvert County, Maryland. He became one of largestlandowners
in the county having settled on the Cliffs below Parker's Creek and
acquiring the plantations called The Cage, Sharp's Outlet,Neglect, part
of Lower Bennett and Mackall's Desire. A photo of The Cage houseis
