(this entry shows a trip she took on horseback from Shelby,Montana to
Trego, Montana. The trip took a total of nine days)
Stayed untilSept last. Mama and Papa came to see us, drove out in a
car. Ford T. August13th. I went to Columbia Falls with them and took No

Walk home from Shelby to AuntBessie's place 4 1/2 miles in the mud a
front dup (sp?) got my pony, Jim andwent to Shelby for my suitcase
again. Then to Syphers and stayed all nightto Cut Band (Cut Bank) all
night Browning, next night Summit, next night Essex, next night Nyack,
next night Coram, next night Whitefish, next night Dickey Lake, next
night home Trego. It was a long and beautiful ride through Glacier Park
on horseback. Had some thrills too.... a cloud burst, seen two bears,
heard a lion ball (bawl), road (rode) the High Bridge at Java the tunnel
1 1/4 miles at payala lost the trail at Gorpy (sp?) and forded the
FlatheadRiver and then back after the storm and it sure was wild. Lost
Trail walk ontrack lookin for it, crossed a RR tunnel about 30 ft long,
when 1/2 way across, felt my horses breath on my heels. that was a chill
as no cover only bare ties, but he put his head down and stepped right on
the ties front feet then put hind feet in same place. (here ends the
entry)
