John Jahnke family lived in Chicago andarrived in Hot Springs, Sanders
County, Montana in 1911.
Children were: Elsie, Emil, Walter, Minnie and Lilly. Carl was born at
the home place in 1912. The eldest son had died in infancy in Chicago.
Daugher Elsie married Fred Marquard. Had children Emma (m. Lester Maas),
Clifford, Fred Jr., and Donald
SonEmil married Sophia Yenne. Children were William, Ethel, Emil Jr.,
Archie, Donald, Elizabeth, Leona, Mary, Joe and Bart. The five younger
children were adopted out when Emil and Sophia divorced. Emil passed away
in 1967. Sophi haspassed away also. Emil Jr. was killed in a mill
accident in 1965.
Son Walterwent to Chicago. In 1936 he married Blanche Haverlandt. Walter
passed away in 1965.
Daughter Minnie married Otto Werth. In 1925 they moved to Wisconsin.
Their children were Wilma, Robert, Margaret, Lorraine, Mildred, and Carol
Daughter Lilly married Robert Whitehead. Their children were Mildred,
Marjorie and Dale. Dale married Geraldine Martin and lives in Kalispell.
Lilly died in1934 and Robert passed away in 1945.
Son Carl remained at home helping his parents. Carl died in 1966.
