My ggg grandfather , Smedley , also known as S .S . Denison
/Dennison was b . 1806 in Richmond , Ontario County, NY . His
parents were Asa Denison and Sylvia Horsford . He later m . Mary
E . "Polly " Woodruff of VT in August 1829 . In 1850 they were
living in Hanover , Chautauqua , NY . He was a farmer . They had
a number of children listedat the time :

Mary A .
Sarah P .
Daniel Asa
Harriet M .
FrancesA .
Samuel
Ellen S .
Asa
In the 1870 Census , Smedley (S .S .) and his wife, Mary (Polly
) were living in East Hamburg , Erie County , NY .
Children living with them at the time were :
Fanny (Frances ) age 28 , at home , "insane"
Ellen age 24
Asa age 21 , laborer
