Heis survived by his wife and ten children, as follows;: Geo of Caldwell, Idaho; Willis of New London, Arthur, of Bentonsport, Iowa; Miss Maude, of Carbon;Miss Ethel of Kirkwood, Ill.; Mrs Wm Bernsmeyer, of Jewell, Ia.' Carl and Miss Myrtle, of Stoneham, colorado; and Mrs Ed Shull and Steve A Davis of Red Oak. He is also survived by two brothers and two sisters. Mrs Davis moved toRed Oak, ten years ago, and was a member of the Babtist Church here. WilliamHarrison Davis was born in Vermont, in 1847. He was married at Monmouth, Ill, to Miss Mary Speck Dec 25, 1868. Funeral Services will be held from the home, 1010 8th St., Saturday afternoon at 2:30. THe family have the sympathyof many friends.
Cause of Death:Angina Pectoris says 1853-1923 on the Cemetary Inscription The Red Oak Sun, April 27, 1923 WAS FOUND DEAD Mrs Wm Davis died suddenlyTuesday Morning while at home alone Found by Son Mrs Wm Davis died suddenlywhile at her home, 1010 Eighth St., on Tuesday morning from heart trouble.She had not been feeling well for several days but had not been confined to her bed at any time. Her son, Steve Davis, with whom she made her home, had urged her to take it easy that day when he left for work and told her that hewould return during the morning to see if there was anything that she wanted. He returned at 10:30 o'clock and from outside the house he saw his mothersitting in her chari with her head leaning forward against the window. He felt that all was not well and hurrying to her he found her dead. She had notbeen dead long, as only a few minutes before his arrival she had waived to a neighbor lady while passing. Mary Speck was born in Aug 9, 1852 at Orangeville, Canada, she being in her 71st year at death. She was married in 1868 atKirkwood Illinois to Wm Davis, who preceded her in death three years ago. She came to Red Oak in 1910 and has made this her home since. She is survivedby five sons, Steve, of Red Oak, George, Nampa Idaho, Lewis, New London, Arthur and Carl, Jewel, Iowa; and five daughters, Mrs Wm Bernsmeier of Jewel; Mrs Ed Shaw, Griswold; Mrs Frank Hendrickson, Biggsville, Illinois; Mrs Maude Jensen, Hurley, South Dakota, Mrs Myrtle Warren, Stoneham, Colorado, and also by 44 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren and one brother and one sister. Funeral Services were held yesterday (Thursday) afternoon at three o'clock at the Babtist Church, conducted by Rev Richmond Smith. Pallbearers were Ed Shay, W.H. Stafford, I.N. Shaffer, Emer Harris, John Winn and D.E. Jones. Singing was by Mrs Howard Brannock and Miss Kate Trapnell. Burial was inEvergreen Cemetary. All of the children except Carl, Lewis, Mrs Jensen, MrsWarren and Mrs Henderson were present at the funeral. Mrs Davis was a member of the Babtist Church. She was a good woman and leaves many friends who extend sympathy to the bereaved family. As the Sun went to press it was learnedthat on account of one son, George, missing train connections and failing toarrive in time for the funeral, the body was held until this Friday for burial. Funeral services were held as planned yesterday (Thursday) and short services will be held this Friday morning. Davis Dies in his Sleep Well known citizen for nearly 40 years takenby heart attack at his Red Oak Home Nov. 18 Funeral Held Monday The deathof Stephen Adam Douglas Davis, 73, occurred sometime during the night of Thursday, Nov 18, death beign due to heart failure during a peaceful sleep, his body being found in his bed at his home at 1010 Eighth St., Friday morning. He had not been well for a number of months and his death was not a surprise to the friends who knew his condition. Funeral services were held from Sellergren Funeral home Monday afternoon., Nove 22, at 2 o'clock. Rev Chas A speaghof the Presbyterian Church officiating, and pallbearers as follows: Elmer Johnson, CW Miller, Nels Pearson, Ed Casey, Ralph Spencer, and Chas Reese. Music was by Mrs Rodger Ferguson and Mrs Ralph Dodds, Vocalists, with Miss Louise Artz accompanist. Mrs CW Miller and Mrs Elmer Johnson were in charge of the flowers. Interment was in Evergreen Cemetary. Mr Davis was born in Illinois March 17, 1870, a son of William and Mary Davis. He came to Red Oak 38 years ago and during his lifteime was engaged in farming and gardening. Lovingand cultivating flowers and his garden and yard at his home here was alwaysa bower of beauty, tulips and peonies being his special hobby and from whichhe always was prepared to provide the public for decoration purposes, givingaway many of his choicest blossoms to his church and for other good causes.For many years Mr Davis ws the recognized authority on the weather reports, and while unofficial, his records were always dependable. He purchased the latest recording thermometers and precipitaiton with unfailing faithfulenss until his heath began to fail during the past summer. Mr Davis was never married, but is survived by two sisters and three brothers, as follows: Mrs Maude Jensen, Sioux City, Ia; Mrs Myrtle Warren, Colorado; Arthur Davis, Diagonal; Carl Davis, Cedar Rapids, and Lew Davis, Washington, Ia. Mrs Jensen and Arthur Davis were here attending their brother's funeral.

Ames Daily Tribun (Ames, Iowa) June 22, 1951 Mrs Maude Jensen, 64, mother of Lester Jensen, of Story City, died yesterday at the home of her son, Arnold Jensen in Winterset. She had been ill for five years. Surviving are her threesons, and three daughters; a twin sister and two brothers. Sons are Lesterand Emory and Arnold of Kimball, South Dakota. The daughters are Mrs. RalphLewis of Story City, Mrs MJ Harris of Sioux City and Mrs Henry Warren who lives in Wyoming, and the brothers are Lewis Davis of New London, Iowa; and Arthur of Diagonal. Funeral Services will be held Tues at 2 pm at the Larson-Peterson funeral home in Story City with Rev WD Winters in charge. Burial willbe in the Story City Cemetary. Reverend WS Winters, pastor of Grace Church was in charge. Mrs Everett Anderson sang "Rock of Ages" and"What a friend We have in Jesus" Mrs. Dorell Doolittle served at the piano.Burial was in Story City Cemetary. Mrs Maude H Jensen, daughter of William and Mary Davis was born November 5, 1886, in Rozetta, Illinois, and passed awayJune 21, 1951 at the home of her son Arnold Jensen of Winterset. On July4, 1902 she was united in marriage to James Patrick Jensen who preceded herin death in 1940. To this union was born seven children; Lester of Story City; Emory of Kimball, South Dakota; Arnold of Winterset; Mary (Mrs Jacob Calvin) of Salem, Oregon; Fern ( Mrs ML Harris) of Sioux City, and Ruth (Mrs RalphLewis) of Sioux City, and one child that died in infancy. Surviving are thesix grandchildren, 14 grandchildren, one sister, Myrtle Warren of Heightville, Wyoming, two brothers Art Davis of Diagonal, Ia, and Lew Davis of New London, Ia. Mrs Jensen was bedridden the last five years of her life which she spent alternately with her children. She was a devoted wife and mother and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
