1842 departed for Zion on ship "Hope" and arrived St Louis 2 months later and stayed until 1848 housing traveling missionaries. Moved to Council Bluffs. Wife died and he remarried. Arrived in SLC Oct 11, 1851 a 6 month journey by ox team. Played coronet at setting of SL templestone. Married again and called to setteling mission for 10 mos. to Fort Bridger.
1886, sep 4 arrested for plural wives 6 mos in prison and $300 fine and again
1889. Had at least 100 grandchildren
HISTORY:worked in dye works age 7, tailor apprentice 15, first 4 0f 5 wives Mary,
after first wife died he remarried and then took an additional wife, second wife
died and he marries two additional women. Our grandmother is the 4th wife. The
5th wife was sister of the first and divorced him. He had 26 children.
Besides being a tailor he played cornet in bands and was active in the LDS church all his life.
