Among 35 citizens in Bridgetown Cumberland NJ, meeting to decide what to do with ship of British tea they have confiscated. Others destroyed tea while they met1774.
Organized a Baptist Church, baptized by Mr Heaton whose daughter he married. Hewas pastor from 8 Sep 1787 until his death in 1790. Also listed in court in Lincoln Co as beloved and trusty friend, Attorney  to settle estate of Joseph Wilkensen. 1789 In Ohio records of pioneer families Cogress gave 1 million acres to be given to settlers who would meet certain requirements. John received a gift lot with son Enos.
