This is what we have sent to the SB News Press. Thought you might like to see it.
Could have written a whole lot more, as you can imagine.

Dorothy A. Salter, aged 90, died Saturday, November 2, in Walnut Creek, California. She was born in Hanson, Massachusetts, and moved to Santa Barbara in 1929. She married Albert L. Salter there in 1930 and lived in the city most of her life. She worked for many years as a clerk at T.R. Souza's Food Market on San Andreas Street and later managed Erik's Bakery on upper State Street. After her husband died in 1976 she moved from Santa Barbara to Carpinteria but maintained her ties to the city. Her love of rock hunting, antiquing, rose gardening, and creative needle work filled her busy days. In recent years failing health forced her to relocate to an assisted care facility in Concord and finally to a nursing home in Walnut Creek, where she died.

Immediate survivors include her sister, Rose Alstead of Buellton, sons Albert L. Salter of McLean, Virginia, and Philip W. Salter of Clayton, California, eight grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.

Interment will be private in the Santa Barbara Cemetery.
