BIRTH: 
In an interview with Theodore T. Law, my father...and a brother to Opal.  He stated on  6-29-87:  "Opal never lived with Gordon.  The baby was born out of wedlock, on the farm.  I played with Leona as a child.  I had a dog named Major.  I'd take her and feed the chicken's and stroll.  

Leona lives in south Florida  (In 1990 Christmas Card, Marie said, "Pat is in a rest home in Ft. Lauderdale....has Alzheimers.  Ted (her husband)  died last October."  Grandma Edna Law mostly raised Leona until she was 3 or 4.  Opal would come home on weekends.  Then she married Swindler and had a large family.  Leo Swindler died of suicide (drank Lysol)..."

(Leona) Pat is in a rest home due to Alsheimers.
Ted Law said that his mother, Edna Hulbert Law, delivered the baby on the farm...My note:  This is varified by Marie Swindlers entry in her green book..... "Pat....Oakwood, Ohio  Edna Law asst.  Mar 4    10:30 AM"

Law Family Reunion May 1999 in Gatlinburg, Tenn.  Jerry & Lou loaned me a little green book that belonged to Marie...in that book there is a loose page that reads "Pat...Oakwood, Ohio....Edna Law asst. Mar 4  10:30AM"..

Note.  8-7-99  Talked with Helen Rennell (dau. of Opal) .....she said that her mother Opal  said "that Gordon was not the father of Leona."
But, she didn't tell her who the father was.  She was going to college at the time....think at Defiance College (Normal or Teachers College).  Don't think she graduated.  She may have been working but more than likely was going to school.  Helen also said that "Patricia was a name Leona liked, so she decided to call herself Pat.  She didn't like the name given to her...Leona".  Leona went by the name of  Leona Swindler until the name change.  Do not know if she was legally adopted by my father.  Opal married Leo Swindler in Jan. 1915 and Leona would have been just around 2 yrs. old.."..
