Mr. BLAND

                   In researching Elizabeth Adeline Jenkin (Bessie) and her family I have not been able to determine her second husbands first name.  Aunt Frances says that she married a Mr. Bland who was the father of her oldest daughter Lemoyne Irene Stevens husband, William Bland.

I found the Lester Stevens family on the 1910 census living in San Luis Obispo, California.

Her oldest son Volney Dillard Stevens listed her on his draft registration card as his nearest relative.  She was living in Pasadena at that time, 1918.  The draft registration card was for WWI.
I found Bessie E. Stevens and two children on the 1920 census living in Anderson,Shasta,California.  She is listed as a widow.  (Not divorced as I would have expected since Aunt Frances says that her husband abandoned her and her children in Redding, California.  Aunt Frances says her father, Marshall Foster DeMasters, went to Redding and brought Bessie and her children back to Conejo, California.)  I think I found Lester Stevens on a census record living somewhere in California.

I found an Elizabeth A. Bland living in Shasta County, California on the 1930 census as a roomer.  She is listed as divorced.  I don't know if this is Aunt Bessie, I don't have any way to know for sure.

I have not been able to find a Bessie and __?___ Bland on any census records.

I don't know when Aunt Bessie died, I have not been able to locate her death record under any of her last names.

I will be glad when they release the 1940 census so that I can continue to look for her.
