                   (Research):JOB DRAKE (Job, John), born in Windsor, Conn., Mar. 28, 1652. He married, Sept. 13, 1677 at Windsor, Elizabeth, widow of Moses Cooke. Nov. 25, 1669, Moses Cooke, of Warronock (Westfield, Mass.), and Elizabeth Clark of Windsor, were married. She was the daughter of Daniel Clark, Secretary of the Colony, and his wife Mary Newberry. Job Drake was appointed Lieutenant of a Company south side of the riverett, May 1701. Lieut. Job Drake to receive L1/14/8 for supplies furnished the soldiers Aug. 1711. (Conn. Colonial Records.) Job Drake died Nov. 9, 1711. The inventory of his estate amounted to L541/05/03. An agreement for the settlement of the estate was signed Oct. 27,1712, by Elizabeth Drake, the relict, Jacob Drake, John Porter and Mary, his wife, Roger Wolcott and Sarah, his wife, being the children and only surviving heirs of Lieut. Job Drake. By this agreement Elizabeth the relict was to have Diego, the negro servant, the great brass kettle, featherbed, bolsters, pillows, and other household things during her natural life. Job Drake, Jr. died Oct. 15, 1712. His will dated Oct. 14, 1712, gave to his mother the use of the new house and lands, which was "my grand-father Job Drake's and set to me in the division of my father Drake's estate." He mentions his brother Jacob Drake, and his son Jacob, who was to have land that was "my grandfather Clark's." He left to his sister Mary's daughter, Mary, five pounds, in case of her death before she was eighteen to go to her sister Katherine. He left the same amount to his sister Sarah's daughter, Katherine, or in case of her death to her brother Alexander. Mar. 10, 1702, Lt. Job Drake, Lt. Samuel Cross and Thomas Marshall were given liberty to set up a grist mill on the stream of "ye mill brook."
