(poss) Thomas FILMER

                   RESEARCH NOTE:
    -No baptism found for Elizabeth, and the link is based on circumstantial evidence-she listed Hernhill as her birthplace in census returns. The main proof that she is a daughter of Thomas and Sarah Filimer is that she had a daughter named Charlotte who may have been the neice Charlotte Smith mentioned in the will of Robert Filmer 1785-1855. It is possible that she was the 1788 baptism, and the person making the record got the name wrong as the year fits her and does not at all fit the daughter Mary.
    -Alternately, the brother of Robert Filmer, Thomas, does have a daughter named Charlotte which is more likely the niece in the will. Also, the daughter Mary is known to have had a family and did in fact exist, thus leaving very little time for Elizabeth to have been born in between the known children of Thomas Filmer and Sarah Stonestreet.  Though this does not disprove the connection, it seems more likely that there may be another Filmer family in the area to which Elizabeth belongs. Further research is necessary.
