William's first wife apparently died between the 1860 and 1870 census as did his brother, George B Hall. He then married his brother's widow. At this time it is not known how many children each wife had. In the 1860 census there were only four children listed born to William and Margaret. George and Sarah only had listed the two children that Sarah had by a previous marriage. I am listing all the children except Charles with Margaret as on the 1880 census it stated that the children's mother was from North Caroline where Margaret was born. Sarah was born in Georgia. However, it is confussing on Charles. He was not listed on the 1870 census with the family but on the 1880 census he was listed as age 11 and his mother from NC. There is a question on his age. Is he the son of Sarah or Margaret's?. I have listed him as Sarah's due to the age factor. Birth records are needed before any sealings can be done. 1850 census, 26 Dec, Dist. 26, Cherokee, Alabama. This is the name that lead me to find the family of John M Hall and Eleanor. He was listed in the Commerce Journal as attending his aunt's funeral in Commerce, Texas. (Mary Ann Randle Hall, wife of Barnabas.) From this I knew that Barnabas had a brother. I found his brother, William M Hall, in Cherokee Co., Alabama, with a son named George. He was the correct age. This lead me to find many other members of the Hall family. George B. Hall became a judge in Commerce, Hunt, Texas. He died before taking another term as judge. He was alive 22 Aug 1924, but died before 1 Jan 1925. See Commerce Journal articles. Continue reading the search story in the notes of John M Hall and Eleanor. (by S.
