Notes:
1860 census. George was living next to a brother, Barnabas. The children listed on this census under George's name must have been his wife's children from a previous marriage. Her father-in-law was also living with them by the name of William Nickson. George must have died between 1860 and 1870 as he was not listed on another census. His widow, Sarah F was married to his brother, William, on the 1870 census. William's wife, Margaret, apparently had died also. It is not known if some of the children listed on the 1870 census are George or Williams. I have kept those in doubt listed with William at this time. [1-21-07 sS J] 1850 census listed with father. George B, 16, male, farmer, b. Alabama. In the next census he was listed as born in NC. I am using Alabama as the family had moved from NC. 1860.Census - Cherokee, Alabama - living next farm to Barnabas Hall, his brother. George B Hall, age 25, male, white, Grocer, value real estate$600, personal property $3000, born NC. Sarah F Hall, age 27, female, white, domestic, born Georgia. Elijah S P Nickson, age 9, male, white, born Alabama. Mary A E Nickson, age 7, female, white, born Alabama. Wm [William] Nickson, age 50, male, white, clerk, pp $200, born Virginia. [probably Sarahs father-in-law].
