John A Hall, husband, White, born Sep 1854, (age 45), married 20 yrs, born in Alabama. F. born N. Carolina, M. born Georgia, * Farmer, Reads, Writes, Speaks English, Owns, mortgage, house.
Minnie H., wife, white, born Sep 1855, (age 44), 4 children., 3 living, born in Georgia, F. Georgia, M. Georgia, R.W.E.
Mamie, daughter, born Nov 1881, (age 18), single, born Alabama, at school, 10 yr., R.W.E. [The transcriber typed it as Minnie. Her middle name was Gussie]
Marcus B, son, born Nov 1885, (age 14), single, born in Alabama, at school, 8 yr., R.W.E.
Willie A, daughter, born June 1892, (age 7), single, born in Texas. [Transcriber typed Nillie]
[* This seems to be the same John A Hall as in the 1880 census. He was listed as Farmer instead of a Physician and drug store owner. He could have farmed, too. Everything else matches with him and his wife.]

[In the 1880 census, John A was listed with a disability. He was listed again in the 1900 census, but his wife, Minnie,
was listed as a widow in the 1910.]

Note: See this site. It lists two John A Hall's that was in the Civil War that were from Alabama. Since he was listed with a disability, I assume he was injuried in the war and was one that
was listed.

Note to check: Wednesday, August 01, 2006: FH Library in Salt Lake City. A copy of the marriage certificate of John A. Hall and Minnie Marcus was found. Married 30 Sep 1879 in Marion Co., Texas. It states that he was a doctor. It doesn't give us any additional info than was already known. John and Minnie's names were first found in Family Search showing her maiden name as Marcus and listing their marriage date and place.

Note check: On the death notice of their son Barney Hall, John's wife's, Minnie, maiden name was listed as Yarbrough. See son's death notice notes. I am wondering now if there were two John A Halls with the same birth date and place??? We may have assumed that her name was Marcus since Barney's middle name is Marcus. Check this out. Minnie's name will list as Yarbrough until proof is found. ?????? Also found the following:"Handbook of Commerce, Texas - 1872-1985. (976.4272/C1 H2h) (p. 89)
Hall, J. A. (Doc.). Early druggist. The Corner Drug Store, located at 1224 Main Street, was operated by J. A. Hall. In
addition to prescription drugs, Mr. Hall sold patent medicines and artists' supplies. (Helen Douglas)
(p.114 under Mayors of Commerce)J. A. Hall, 1907 (died in office).[Note: This gives us the year of his death.] In the same book in the back section under the title of: Handbook of Commerce, Texas - 1906 (Listed under leading businesses - page 21)
J. A. Hall & Co., drugs and stationery, old phone 138, new phone 44.

Note: John's mother's brother died the same year as John did. See notes under his name for his obit.
William McKendree George Randle was born in DeKalb County, Georgia, May 5, 1830, and died in Hunt County, Texas, October 10, 1907.

Notes:
Thought I had found the maiden name of Minnie to be 'Marcus' through the PAF Insight program, then checked the IGI to make sure it was on the file. I also found her listed on a marriage certificate with Dr. John A. Hall and as Minnie Marcus. (See John's notes.) I have now found her listed on her son's obituary (see Barney Marcus Hall notes). She was listed as Minnie Yarbrough and not Minnie Marcus. This is being searched to see which is correct. I had assumed that Marcus was her maiden name as her son was named Barney Marcus Hall and his son the same. Also she was married to a Dr. John A Hall.

(It was necessary to put John Hall and Minnie Marcus in together on Family Search to search for marriage and sealing dates. They were sealed twice. (3 Feb 1994 in OGDEN Temple and 15 May 2001 in OGDEN Temple.) The 2001 sealing only had source information: Batch No.: M592468, Dates: 1860-1891, Source Call No.: 1481607 V. A-D, Type: Film.)
