                          Thomas lived at 2617 Washington Ave, Granite City, Madison,
Illinois. He served in the Army during WWII and fought in France,
Belgium, and Germany.
       He returned to Granite City after the war, and had a variety of
jobs. He worked for an appliance sales and repair company for a time, and
then went to work for the Federal Govt. in procurement.
       He left the Govt to sell life insurance for Metropolitan Life Ins
Co, (much to his wife's dismay). He worked long hours, and was very
successful. He enjoyed weekends at his club house north of Grafton,
Jersey, Illinois, for many years.
       He purchased ground in Grafton, near Stanley Burns home in Mason
Hollow. The land and buildings were sold on his death.
