    1. William, (Wilhelm) was single and traveling with his older brother when he immigrated to the United States at about age 25 (about 1876). (Another record indicates that William was about age 19). They were seperated at Ellis Island, and never saw each other again, (according to a letter from Grandma Burns to Aunt Ruth.) William was named after Prince Wilhelm of Prussia, which makes me think he was born in Prussia.
    2. William was 6 when his father died, and was in the U.S. when his mother died.
