In Sjur's probate they had 2 horses, 7 cows, 3 heifers, 12 sheep and goates, that was just a little less than they had on the whole farm 25 years earlier. He did very well. He had 1/2 Jokstad and his brother Kristen had the other half. Later there were disagreement over the division of the farm and it turned out that Sjur had 3 times as much land as the other half

Ole got in to a property dispute with Iver Olsen. Ole lost, and it was bad, the judgement against him was $331 in court cost, and Iver wanted to take it out of the farm, however he was fooled, because Ole had mortgaged the farm for $ 400. Ole complained of being poor in 1753, he had mortgaged all he owned, his wife was sick, his daughter blind, his cattle and horses had accidents and he had taken in his widowed daughter, Helge, and her 5 children. He died in December 1756 at the age of 69 less 10 weeks.
