"I am descended from Thomas Kirk, b. abt 1727, Lancaster Co, VA, d. 22 Feb., d. 1801, Montgomery Co, VA.  His father was Anthony Kirk, d. 30 Dec., 1763, married Sarah Brent (1730-1762) on 4 May, 1749.  Anthony's father was Christopher IV, d. NOv 1733 Lancaster Co, Va (wife Elizabeth).  Christopher 1V's father was Christopher III, d. 21 March, 1721, Lancaster Co. VA (wife Ann). Christopher III's father was Christopher II d. 8 May, 1705, Lancaster Co, Va.  Christopher II's father was Christopher Kirke, b. 2 Feb 1618 Yorkshire, England (wife Alice).  He emigrated to North Hampton Co., VA in 1635 on the ship George.  His father was Christopher, b. 17 Nov., 1596, Yorkshire, England.  His father was Thomas Kyrke, b. 1571 Norton, Derby, England.  His father was Edward Kyrke (wife Ellen Canne) b. abt 1545 Norton, Derby, England.  His father was Arnold Kyrke.  I learned everything from emigrant Christopher Kirke back from Max on the Kirk Forum.  From Anthony to Christopher from Ed Smith in an email. Death:  Montgomery Co. Court Order Book # 12, pg 222, 1801:  "Satisfactory proof having been made to the Court by the oath of Adam Taylor that John, Thomas, William, Joseph, Benjamon and Nimrod Kirk, Francis Harliss, formerly Francis Kirk, Mary Duncan, formerly Mary Kirk are the heirs and heiresses of Thomas Kirk, deceased, the same is ordered to be certified to the Register of the Land Office."  62-463 VA State Land Grand 6/15/1812, to John Kirk, Thomas & William & Benjamin & Joseph & Nimrod Kirk & Frances Farless formerly Kirk and Mary Dunkan formerly Mary Kirk, heirs of Thomas Kird decd., Botetourt Co., 72 acres under John's Creek Mountain on Sinking Creek.
