William is listed as a coalminer on his daughter Agnes and John Livingstones marriage register. His Death Rehistration in the "Middle District" of "Old Monkland" in the County of Lanark (1875 page166) says he was an illegitimate son, and that his reputed father is George Lockhart. It says he died "congestion of lungs, 6 days as certified by J Farquarson M.D."
