NAME: John CORK, Jr. OCCUPATION: Farmer RESEARCH NOTE: John Milton's mother listed as Tency Ann Outten in LDS Sources. NOTES: 1. Births of all children were taken from the "Family Bible" that was as of 1985 in the possession of Charles Manley Cork. OBITUARY: John Cork, 82, a farmer, and a native of England, died at the home of his son, R.V. Cork, manager of the George Wright farm, west of Hillery, at 4:45 o'clock Monday morning. He had been ill for some time. He was born in Plymouth, England, July 30, 1841, the son of John and Mary Rabbidge Cork, coming to America when he was a small boy. He has resided in Vermilion for the past 77 years. His wife the late Martha R. Cork, died several years ago. He is survived by two sons. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon from the Lincoln M.E. Church with the Rev. T.F. Shouse officiating. Burial will be made in Springhill Cemetery.
OBITUARY: Mrs. Martha Craig Cork, 77, wife of John Cork and a native of Vermilion County, died at 6:30 o'clock Friday evening after a long illness. She passed away at the family reidence, 718? Sheridan Street, her home for the past 17 years. She was born near Newtown, Pilot township, July 26, 1842 and was the oldest daughter of William and Emily Vandaren Craig. At the age of 18 she was married to John Cork. To this union were born seven children. Surviving her are two sons, eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren. When she was _ years of age, she joined the Christian church at Davis corner near Newtown, Ill, where for many years she was a faithful member. After moving to Danville _ years age, she transferred her membership to the Lincoln M.E. church. Mrs. Cork is survived by her husband, John Cork, of Danville; two sons, Milton of Cam_Park and Ross of Blount Township; two brothers, Milton Craig of Oklahoma City, Okla and John Craig of Oakwood; one sister Mrs. A.B. Tuiten? of Champaign. Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock from the Lincoln M.E. church. Friends wishing to view the remains may do so at the residence 71_ Sheridan Street.
