NAME: Researcher Bobbie Moffat states that Obedience's name was
Obedience Cullum (Tunnel). I wonder if Tunnel was her maiden name?
Researcher Ester Brown wrote in 1973 that Obedience's maiden name
was Cullum. Her family records that had been passed down from her
family stated that Naomi Hill's mother was Miss Cullum. Then Ester
states that she had heard her aunt Mandy (Amanda Bivins) say she
had heard her father (Albartus Bivins, son of Naomi Hill) say
that his mother's maiden name was Cullum.
MARRIAGES: Obedience was suppose to marry John Duckworth soon after the
deed below was written. But in the 1840 Census records it shows
         both of them living alone.
Marriage info. came from Deed Book B pg 191 in Wayne County, Tenn.
         dated oct. 18, 1834.
POSSIBLE RELATIVES:
In a letter to Ester Brown from Charlie M. Hamner 1970, Charlie
       states:
"A. B. Cullom, M.D., was born in Davidson County, Tennessee
16 July 1839, Gus oarebts were Jesse P. and Susan A.(Hooper) Cullom.
Jesse was born in Davidson County in 1815 and died on 28 Mar. 1851 in

August 29, 1815. After A. B. Cullom moved to Trigg, Kentucky (this

      N. Hill & E. W. Hendrix deed 98 acres to Edmond Crick:
The deed states: "Nancy Hill the wife of William Hill deceased &
      Elisha W. Hendrix her son."
In a letter to Ester Brown in the 1970's from Charlie Hammer, Charlie
wrote that Queen Brown had Nancy Hendricx sealed to John D. Hill and son
son Elisha W. Hendrix sealed to them. It took this researcher repeated
communication to Salt Lake and repeated trips to Tennessee for photo
copies to get Nancy and Elisha sealed to the right person, William Hill.
The following information came from Ester Brown from correspondence
with Charlie Hammer a decendent of Elisha's.
"Nancy was the mother of Elisha W. Hendrix, born to her out of
wedlock. William married Nancy when Elisha was near 1 years old.
Elisha was born 20 Oct. 1810. William Hill & Nancy Hendrix were
married 8 July 1811 in Williamson County, Tennessee. William Hill
raised, educated and helped Elisha as a son and left property to
Elisha at his death. William's will is in Williamson County, Tenn.
and provided for his wife Nancy, mother Obedience, stepson Elisha,
and son of Elisha's, William Green Hendrix. Also William gave half
of some of his land to his brothers and sisters." quoted from

This above deed states that William Hill divides and wills
some of his property into eleven shares. Thomas W. Hill gets one
share of this inheritance. Williams living siblings receive each
a share and possibly even some of his close friends, since the
above Thomas Lamb also appears to have received a share. I
believe that Thomas is either the father or brother of Martin Lamb
who married William's sister Frances Hill. Thomas Lamb also has
property that adjoins William Hill's property.
