NAME: Researcher Bobbie Moffat states that Obedience's name was Obedience Cullum (Tunnel). I wonder if Tunnel was her maiden name? Researcher Ester Brown wrote in 1973 that Obedience's maiden name was Cullum. Her family records that had been passed down from her family stated that Naomi Hill's mother was Miss Cullum. Then Ester states that she had heard her aunt Mandy (Amanda Bivins) say she had heard her father (Albartus Bivins, son of Naomi Hill) say that his mother's maiden name was Cullum. MARRIAGES: Obedience was suppose to marry John Duckworth soon after the deed below was written. But in the 1840 Census records it shows both of them living alone. Marriage info. came from Deed Book B pg 191 in Wayne County, Tenn. dated oct. 18, 1834. POSSIBLE RELATIVES: In a letter to Ester Brown from Charlie M. Hamner 1970, Charlie states: "A. B. Cullom, M.D., was born in Davidson County, Tennessee 16 July 1839, Gus oarebts were Jesse P. and Susan A.(Hooper) Cullom. Jesse was born in Davidson County in 1815 and died on 28 Mar. 1851 in Lexington, Missouri. The mother was born in Dixon County, Tenn. on August 29, 1815. After A. B. Cullom moved to Trigg, Kentucky (this comes from Trigg County History). This Jesse could be a nephew of Obedience Cullum. Davidson County is next to Williamson County, Tenn."
