NOTES: 1. He was amongst "The Palatine Families of NY" who immigrated in 1709/1710 from Germany to England and then to what became upper-New-York-State, settling first along the Hudson River and later along the Mohawk River. This Johann George SCHAEFFER came to NY state with his parents and their other children. 2. Johann George SCHAEFFER was on the Simmendinger Register about 1716/1717 and is listed nearby other members of his family. He was a Palatine Debtor in 1718 and 1721, as recorded in the Livingston Debt Lists. He first appears on the tax rolls in 1722 for the North Ward area, and was continually listed there until March 1733, when his widow's name was recorded (Dutchess County Tax Lists).
