HISTORICAL CONTEXT: This Edward Jones lived after Charles I was beheaded, Cromwell had his stint at leading the government and Charles the second ascended to the throne in 1660. Charles the second ruled 25 years. Edward and Dorothea would have grown up under his reign. They were married the year that Charles the second died. Lived through the reigns of Charles II, James II, William and Mary, Anne and into the reign of George I.
